Coleman Folding Shovel

... Here is a good, sturdy, medium strength shovel for just about any purpose you can have whether camping, hiking, for the car, gardening, etc. This is the kind of personal shovel that is issued to military personnel. It folds into a trinagle about 6"Lx4"Wx2"H and, when extended, is about 10" long. It has a ripple on one edge that is supposed to represent a saw built onto the blade. This shovel is very good for chipping ice in the winter time when you get your vehicle stuck. It is somewhat adequate for shoveling snow, it gets the job done but that is not what it was designed for. Have two vehicles and have one of these shovels in each. Great for when you get stuck in any other type of soil/terrain other than snow. It is great for gardening, camping, and hiking. If your are in a combat situation, this shovel is great for digging that hasty fighting postion (its intended purpose) and then improve that position with a larger shovel. This shovel, also, is great if you got to do the poo thing because you can dig a hole and fold the blade to a 90 degree position, lock it in place, set the handle on the ground with the 90 degree shovel standing up, and sit on it to use as a seat. Unfortunately, you can only place one butt cheek on the blade, that is all the room you have for. It also makes for a good, sturdy weapon against critters and such, when extended. It comes with a plastic container that attaches to your utility belt or backpack. The uses for this shovel are only limited to your imagination. The only thing that I can really say bad about this shovel is that make-believe saw on one of the blades. It is worthless and is a big joke. Twenty years in the military using a shovel like this and not once was I able to saw through anything. Guess it makes a good conversation piece around the camp fire. ...

Coleman 425F499G 2 Burner Compact Gas Stove

... This 425 2-burner Coleman stove has remained (relatively) unchanged in more than 50 years. This stove is simple, mechanically bombproof, and offers features unmatched by today's assortment of higher-priced, more 'convenient' stoves. For example, the 425 may be found nearly everywhere and shares rarely needed replacement parts across the product line. Tanks, valves, and generators are nearly interchangeable. The stove is easy to clean, spacious, and offers two burners: the main with a higher output, and a secondary, controlled by a simple turn key on the left-hand side of the stove case for simmering. This means that Iron Chef-wannabes can easily cook multiple entrees or multi-course meals on the camp table. The case offers a built-in windscreen. The tank is suspended by two tabs, although you can pin the tank if desired. The pump uses the ubiquitous Coleman pump assembly (although more recently this assembly uses a plastic washer). This stove will last a lifetime and you will not be disappointed. It is one of the most classic stove designs in history.

Coleman Exponent Multi-Fuel Stove

... I have been using this model (550Bxxx) stove as my primary stove for canoe and kayak wilderness trips for several years. I have tried other stoves and all have some faults: they are messy (carbon black), use a priming step, and don't simmer well or at all. Upon examining my "spare" stoves, I found the Apex II hose leaked and replacement parts were expensive. I decided to purchase this stove to be my working spare/primary with hopes that it would be like the older version. I was not disappointed! It starts instantly (even in cold weather) and simmers well just like the older model that I use. It is a mystery why outdoor stores do not carry this model, since it is not much heavier than stoves with separate liquid fuel bottles and much easier to use and control burner flame. It's a great stove for baking with the outback oven. ...

Coleman 5010D700T Camp Oven

... No Big Camp kitchen is complete without this oven. For my wife and I, Big Camp is all about making great meals with a great view. Those dehydrated bag meals are fine for light weight backpacking, but if its Big Camp, then we're out to push the limits. No Beanie Weenie for me! Our Big Camp kitchen includes a Primus Atle 2-Burner Stove, a Primus Atle BBQ Grill/Stove, a GSI Pinnacle Griddle and this Coleman oven. That all fits in this Mountainsmith Large Zip-Top Tote for rapid deployment. It all connects to a 10lb refillable propane tank. We also use the GSI Outdoors Bugaboo Pots and I really like them. That's a serious camp kitchen even Alton Brown would appreciate. As far as this oven goes, I really like it. I've had great success with tube cookies, rolls and croissants as well as brownies and quick bread mixes even at high altitude. I've baked breakfast casseroles just below treeline. This past weekend (6/13) we baked cornbread to go with the fresh pan seared trout. This is no Viking Range. This is a rudimentary folding metal box, but it works. Baking with this can be an active sport and you have to pay attention. The thermodynamic properties of aluminized steel are beyond the scope of this review, but suffice it to say that one should not initially turn the burner on full blast or the box will not heat evenly and could warp. Likewise, one should not place this directly over a camp fire. For campfire cooking, get a dutch oven. I have baked great things in those too. For this oven, I keep the burner low at first and let it all heat up slowly to about 200. I then turn up the burner and let it slowly rise to 350/375. It then requires adjusting the stove burner every few minutes to keep the temperature even. By "even" I mean between 350 and 400. I haven't warped it yet. I looked seriously at the Coleman InstaStart Portable Oven and the Camp Chef Camp Oven, but this simple box can't be beat for portability. I could carry three camp stoves and this oven in the space that one of those other ovens takes up and those things are expensive. Maybe this winter, I'll make a cover to increase the oven's efficiency. I could use aluminized fiberglass ~something like this~ or simply lay a Silicone Bake Mat over it. In addition to the GSI pots and pans, we also have some silicone bakeware because it's lightweight and smashable. We don't bring this oven on every camping adventure, but there is something really fun about preparing great meals that include fresh baked things way out in the middle of the woods. P.S. It's generally a good idea to keep the camp kitchen away from one's sleeping tent. That's not always possible in developed campgrounds. We keep our camp clean, lock it all up at night and have never had a bear or raccoon problem. It's work, but organization is the key. I've found Mountainsmith Cubes and Eagle Creek Cubes to be a great way of color coding all the gear. Happy camping! ...

Coleman Road Trip Pro Grill SS

... The Coleman RoadTrip Pro SS Grill is constructed from heavy-duty stainless steel and is extremely well put-together, with easy-to-follow instructions for setting it up, starting it, and even for cleaning it! It's so much easier to clean than other grills we've used. We used it the day we got it, and several times the first week, and since then! We are completely impressed with its even heating, capacity of food we can get on the grill at one time, cooking temperature, and ease of use. We also find it to be extremely flexible.

We purchased the Coleman RoadTrip Full-Size Aluminum Griddle which is a full-sized griddle (as opposed to the half-sized pieces sold for the RoadTrip LX and LXE models Coleman 9949-750 Road Trip Grill, Red Coleman 9941-768 Road Trip Grill (Blue). The half-size accessory pieces will NOT fit the larger Coleman RoadTrip Pro SS Grill. Therefore, the full-size griddle is an excellent addition; it is smaller but fits in and cooks well. (See our review from earlier today).

The sturdy steel folding legs, larger size, and thermometer on the hood are three key reasons why we got this grill instead of the LX or LXE models. In addition, the Pro SS has 24,000 BTU (12,000 BTU per burner, controlled independently), 4,000 more than the LX or LXE, and 345 square inches of cooking space, 65 square inches more than the LX or LXE. The Pro SS's grilling surface consists of two 12x15-inch enamel-coated steel grates. The Pro SS preheated quickly and stayed quite hot when we opened the lid, and it got back up to around 600 degrees once we shut the lid again (after turning the meat).

The inconvenience of the Pro SS would be if we were taking the grill out a lot; it weighs 69 pounds, heavier than the LX or LXE and therefore more cumbersome to move about. However, we use it 90% right off of our small, third-floor apartment patio, and for the times we take it out, it's such a good grill, the advantages outweigh the size and weight disadvantages. Our Pro SS is built solidly, and fits well on our patio. It's such a good grill, we no longer bemoan the fact that we don't have space for a full-size grill.

The two side tables flip out (hinged), and have stainless steel panels. They are strong enough to hold heavier items. There are three utensil hooks on the right-side table, and a portable camping-type propane holder, and towel holder, on the left table. We bought the large propane tank adapter Coleman High-Pressure Propane Hose and Adapter, which works well. (See my review dated earlier today).

We also bought the Coleman cover Coleman RoadTrip Grill Cover), which is another durable grill accessory from Coleman (see our review from earlier today).

We are also impressed with Coleman's three-year warranty on the RoadTrip Pro SS Grill. But as well as this grill is built, that's just an added perk; we doubt we'll have to use it.

Coleman Girls Catnap Sleeping Bag

... This sleeping bag is fine for the money. Coleman 14 x 12 Insta-Clip Screen

... I will be ordering my third one of these this year. I live in an area where we get winds up to 40, even 50 mph sometimes. I put this up in the Spring and enjoy it as long as it survives. It will get demolished by wind sometime during the late summer or fall. In the meantime I will have enjoyed it for several months--I leave it up all summer. I have tried several different brands and this is the best designed for the beating they get here at 7000 feet. Some of the other brands have not lasted a month.

The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that the vent in the top is crappy. Designed to drench you when it rains. Of course they didn't anticipate that anyone would want to sit out there in the rain, but I do, and so do both my cats. I hang shower curtains over the sides for wet weather but there's nothing you can do about the vent.

Coleman Elite WeatherMaster 6 Tent

... Note: This is a photocopy of the same review I gave on another site, going to try and post more of the pictures that I wasn't able to on that site here.
This has to be the best tent that I have had the opportunity to own. I own or have access to Coleman, Wenzel and various other brand tents but only Coleman tents seem to last the best for this class. Heck my last Coleman is now 25-30 years old and it is still usable, though it is now on the small side as that was the tent I grew up in. As for class I mean Family/Car camping tents.
Simple setup and take down. Took only half an hour to put up by myself, only needed a little help with the rainfly. As a side note though I do have to say that users may need to ignore the instructions to raise the poles up to the high or third hole after raising the tent up. At first setup mine was tight enough as it was. Rainfly coverage was excellent, but if there is a high wind and rain, the middle section may have some rain coming in from the screen on the top, the one that is a skylight without the rainfly on. No floor in the screened in area, but thats no big for me. Screens themselves are not no-see-um mesh so keep that in mind. A common comment on last years model was that the tent acted like a wind sock due the the fact the back section had no screen. This years model does have a screen window on the high side of the rear section. Just like the other windows this one can also be zipped shut. Self rolling windows are an interesting idea, though they took me down memory lane and the snap bracelets of the early nineties, mostly cause they function exactly the same way. The biggest difference is that these are not covered in fabric as the bracelets were, so when putting these in only an adult should do it. The supposed injuries due to the bracelets can also occur here but possibly more easily. If you can handle a 1" wide metal tape measure without a problem though I reckon you should be fine. Sleeping accommodations are a little relative, for me I feel this tent can sleep two or three comfortably, with cots or air-beds, a cooler and a chuck-box. If you just want to sleep in it the stated sleeping area is about right, but be prepared for waking everyone up if you have to get up in the middle of the night.
Now the most important part, for me at least, Waterproofness. Can't say how it will handle in a real rainstorm but I will tell you this, it held up good to the settings on my garden hose, with a friend standing inside. To give you an idea what settings I used, one was a fan setting (this puts out an arch that about 90 degrees on a flat plain, I like it cause it creates fairly realistic water droplets at a fairly low pressure). The other was a needle setting (this does just what is says creates a needle of water about the diameter of a wide grip pen, its high pressure). The fan one I used on the sides and the roof at a distance of about 6 feet from the tent for about 2 minutes on each section. Had no leaking issues other that the issue mentioned above were water came in through the middle section on top. Rainfly worked great as well. The latter I used on the seams. For about thirty seconds to a minute I sprayed each seam to see if any leaks showed up, I thought something had to show up with this setting. To my amazement nothing did. So other than some rain coming in over the middle section there really wasn't an issue.
All in all this is a great all around tent, and in my opinion stays true to the Coleman name. Only time will tell if it holds up to my old Coleman. ...

Coleman One-Burner Sporter II Dual Fuel Gas Stove

Coleman 4D Pack-Away LED Lantern

... I can't help to feel that some others on here have gotten confused about this product. While it is seemingly not as rugged as Coleman gas lanterns, it just might prove to be more durable. I have personally had the glass globe on my traditional Coleman lantern broken twice by little more than bumping into it with something hard. The heat produced with the gas powered lanterns is intense and makes that glass globe very easy to break. The plastic lens/globe on this lantern seems very durable and I'm sure it will take a bit more shock than the glass one. Another point on this is the fact that it can retreat down into the case (like a turtle) and suddenly become half the size that it was in the expanded operational configuration.

This light is the small, portable, more compact version of the 8D cell unit. It is designed to be compact enough to fit into places where the bigger ones can't fit. It's designed to be lesser weight than the full sized ones. The weight thing comes with a trade-off. If you want to cut weight, you cut down on strength. I've handled this light quite a bit and even intentionally bumped it pretty hard. It doesn't seem too fragile.

Light emissions are very good. I agree that switch placement on the top seems strange but not that big of a deal. I wasn't really planning on use outside, as it will mostly be an emergency light backup for power outages. As such, it seems to be built very well.

The carry handle makes an excellent structure, when down, to build an aluminum foil reflector on, or you can easily mold one on the side of the globe.

When the top is retracted into the case, the unit is very small and compact. A nice design for storage. But extending it again requires a bit of practice to determine the exact force required to make it stay open and not so much that you'd damage it.

Overall, when considering that this has a high output cree LED that is still relatively expensive (more or less), the price seems very cheap for what you get.
