Coleman Road Trip Pro Grill SS

... The Coleman RoadTrip Pro SS Grill is constructed from heavy-duty stainless steel and is extremely well put-together, with easy-to-follow instructions for setting it up, starting it, and even for cleaning it! It's so much easier to clean than other grills we've used. We used it the day we got it, and several times the first week, and since then! We are completely impressed with its even heating, capacity of food we can get on the grill at one time, cooking temperature, and ease of use. We also find it to be extremely flexible.

We purchased the Coleman RoadTrip Full-Size Aluminum Griddle which is a full-sized griddle (as opposed to the half-sized pieces sold for the RoadTrip LX and LXE models Coleman 9949-750 Road Trip Grill, Red Coleman 9941-768 Road Trip Grill (Blue). The half-size accessory pieces will NOT fit the larger Coleman RoadTrip Pro SS Grill. Therefore, the full-size griddle is an excellent addition; it is smaller but fits in and cooks well. (See our review from earlier today).

The sturdy steel folding legs, larger size, and thermometer on the hood are three key reasons why we got this grill instead of the LX or LXE models. In addition, the Pro SS has 24,000 BTU (12,000 BTU per burner, controlled independently), 4,000 more than the LX or LXE, and 345 square inches of cooking space, 65 square inches more than the LX or LXE. The Pro SS's grilling surface consists of two 12x15-inch enamel-coated steel grates. The Pro SS preheated quickly and stayed quite hot when we opened the lid, and it got back up to around 600 degrees once we shut the lid again (after turning the meat).

The inconvenience of the Pro SS would be if we were taking the grill out a lot; it weighs 69 pounds, heavier than the LX or LXE and therefore more cumbersome to move about. However, we use it 90% right off of our small, third-floor apartment patio, and for the times we take it out, it's such a good grill, the advantages outweigh the size and weight disadvantages. Our Pro SS is built solidly, and fits well on our patio. It's such a good grill, we no longer bemoan the fact that we don't have space for a full-size grill.

The two side tables flip out (hinged), and have stainless steel panels. They are strong enough to hold heavier items. There are three utensil hooks on the right-side table, and a portable camping-type propane holder, and towel holder, on the left table. We bought the large propane tank adapter Coleman High-Pressure Propane Hose and Adapter, which works well. (See my review dated earlier today).

We also bought the Coleman cover Coleman RoadTrip Grill Cover), which is another durable grill accessory from Coleman (see our review from earlier today).

We are also impressed with Coleman's three-year warranty on the RoadTrip Pro SS Grill. But as well as this grill is built, that's just an added perk; we doubt we'll have to use it.
